NORSIRK has received funding from Innovation Norway to launch a collaborative project focused on the collection, sorting and treatment of textiles, with the goal of developing circular solutions within this area. NF&TA has been engaged as project lead for the initiative, which will run from January 2026 to September 2027.
The main objective of the project is to develop and establish a business model for a national Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) for textiles that combines regulatory compliance with innovation, research and development, and industrial growth.
"We have said that we will provide producer responsibility services under the upcoming textile EPR scheme as well," says Stig Ervik, CEO of NORSIRK. He is pleased that NF&TA has taken on the project management role for the innovation project, which officially began in January.

3. Industry Engagement and Innovation Strategy
Close dialogue with producers, municipalities, collectors, recyclers and research and innovation organisations, combined with the development of an innovation strategy for a future PRO, including consideration of dedicated R&D mechanisms.
