Local Presence, Nordic Solution

News from NORSIRK, Retur, El-Kretsen, TMR and Sumi: A new Nordic collaboration to help businesses navigate the green transition and comply with current and future regulatory requirements.

From 1 June 2025, NORSIRK, El-Kretsen, TMR, Retur and Sumi will offer businesses a single solution for managing their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations across the Nordic region for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), all types of batteries, textiles and packaging. These are product categories that are receiving particular attention under EU legislation related to the green transition and are covered by producer responsibility regulations.

Nordic PRO Solutions – One Hub for EPR Services

The Nordic PRO Solutions collaboration ensures that companies receive support and guidance in meeting their statutory producer responsibility obligations in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark through a single point of contact.

Reporting can be carried out in one place, while the expertise, regulatory guidance and support needed to comply with national requirements are also available through one coordinated service.

The Market Calls for a Common Nordic Approach to Producer Responsibility

The Nordic region is often viewed as a single market for EEE, batteries, textiles and packaging. Sustainability managers in larger companies frequently have Nordic-wide responsibility for reporting and regulatory compliance. This is the background for the simplified solution now being introduced.

Instead of having to manage relationships with, in the worst-case scenario, up to 12 different producer responsibility organisations across Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, companies can use Nordic PRO Solutions as their single solution in all four countries.

Stig Ervik, CEO of NORSIRK, is highly positive about the new Nordic collaboration:

"Producer responsibility and compliance with the growing body of EU legislation can be challenging. By bringing everything together through Nordic PRO Solutions, many companies will find compliance significantly easier."

Ervik notes that this approach has long been part of NORSIRK’s business model: bringing multiple producer responsibility schemes together under one roof, first in Norway and now across the Nordic region, to simplify compliance for producers.

Simplification and Expertise

All customers of Nordic PRO Solutions will be assigned a dedicated contact person who will ensure that all relevant information, guidance, EU regulatory updates, reporting requirements and deadlines are communicated clearly and directed to the appropriate people within the organisation.

The organisations involved in Nordic PRO Solutions bring extensive knowledge and expertise. Customers will have access to support and guidance in navigating the green transition from experienced professionals across the Nordic partnership.

Operational from June 2025

Businesses throughout the Nordic region can already enter into agreements covering their Nordic producer responsibility obligations.

Companies should contact the partner organisation in the country where their headquarters are located to receive assistance.

At NORSIRK, the Sales Unit serves as the primary point of contact for all Nordic PRO Solutions services and can answer any questions related to the shared Nordic solution.
